Why should I purchase an Accolade?
Accolades are a memorable and unique way to honor your graduate’s accomplishments. Not only do Accolades serve as a public means of recognizing your student’s success, but they also represent a permanent record of your child’s time at GW. This personalized message is something your son or daughter will cherish for years to come as they remember just how proud of them you truly are.
What should I include in my Accolade?
All Accolades are individually designed and can accommodate a wide range of text and photos. Typical Accolades include 1-3 photos and a personalized message that show’s your graduate how proud you are of their accomplishments.
When is the final date to place an Accolade?
As there is only a limited amount of space reserved in the yearbook, Accolades are printed on a “first come, first serve” basis. All Accolade orders must be received by March 1, 2012. However, we are applying a discount from the regular price for orders received before January 15, 2012.
Once I submit my request for an Accolade, what do I do next?
Upon successful completion and payment of the Accolade, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from the Cherry Tree. Our staff will personally design the Accolade and within 30 days you will receive a proof in your inbox. Once you approve or edit the proof, the process is complete.
Senior Portraits
What do I wear for the portrait?
Dress is business casual. A cap and gown will be provided upon request for senior portrait packages, however, only the business casual photo will appear in the yearbook.
How do I order portrait packages?
Proofs and ordering information will be sent to the student’s home address within 3 weeks following the portrait sitting. For more information, contact Thornton Studio Photographers directly.
If I miss the portrait sitting, can I have a photograph professionally taken so that I am included in the yearbook?
No, we are under contractual agreement with our photographer. There are four portrait sitting weeks throughout the semester. Please check our website for times and location. If a student does not get the photograph taken, they will not be included in the yearbook.
Yearbooks
When will I receive my yearbook?
Yearbooks are completed during the summer as they include graduation. You should expect to receive your yearbook in the mail by mid-October. Please note that they will be shipped out to the permanent address listed in the GWeb system.
Are yearbooks just for seniors?
No. Although we only take portraits of the senior class, the yearbook covers events from all 4 years. It is a great way to remember any year spent at GW, capturing memories that will surely be treasured for years to come! Yearbooks for non-seniors are $75. Please contact us to place an order.
Can I purchase additional copies of the Cherry Tree?
Yes, each additional copy is $75. Please contact us to place an order.
Do you sell alumni books?
Yes, we have a limited number of past edition of the Cherry Tree available for sale. We also have our 100th Edition of the Cherry Tree available for sale, which includes a 50 page retrospective of the history of GW. Each book is $75. Please contact us to place an order.
