Founded in 1908, the GW Cherry Tree is the official undergraduate yearbook of the George Washington University and one of the oldest publications on campus.  Each year the Cherry Tree strives to capture the spirit of GW, filling the pages with snapshots of life at the University.  Covering anything and everything that happens in any given year, the Cherry Tree represents a permanent record of your time time at GW and is a must-have for any member of the GW community.

The mission of the Cherry Tree is to facilitate a greater sense of community among the George Washington University, to bring together more closely the various departments of the university, and to keep fresh in our memories each year of increased student activities and college spirit.

To carry out this mission we need the help of many and the aid of technology:

  • For design and photography editing we use Photoshop CS4, InDesign CS4, and Illustrator CS4.
  • For photography we use both digital and film cameras including a Nikon D100, Nikon F100, Nikon N90s, and Cannon EOS Elan II.
  • The professional photographers at Thornton Studios take all of our senior portraits and support our photography department.
  • The Cherry Tree is published by Taylor Publishing.
  • The advisors for the Cherry Tree are Deborah Snelgrove (Associate Vice President for Creative Management) and Ariz Matute.
